Day 6: Lofoten (Part One)

Day 6: Lofoten. Part one. I spent the whole day walking around slack-jawed with amazement, mouth wide open like the monkfish in these photos. If I weren't taking these pictures and keeping this travel journal here on Facebook, I think I'd forget over 80 percent of this trip. One evening I asked Geesche, "are these photos from this morning?!" and I couldn't believe it. It felt like they were from days ago.

Just how amazed this place has left us is obvious from the simple fact that Facebook won't let me upload all the photos at once. I'm only allowed 80 at a time, and I did a quick edit down to 128 photos to publish out of 580 taken today. I don't want to drop any of them, so I'll have to upload them in two separate batches.

We rented a Volvo and used it to speed through a few of the area's most important natural attractions. Loads of cyclists, tents, and caravans or RVs everywhere. Has to do with a Scandinavian concept you may have heard of: Allemansretten. The right of public access.

More in part two.
